Tack

A term that is used to indicate the stickiness of a top sheet, normally measured by seeing whether the racket will hold the ball upside down on the face. A tacky surface will hold the ball for a number of seconds or even indefinitely.

Under low impact speeds, a tacky surface can dramatically slow the ball down. This characteristic is useful for certain shots, such as producing spinny serves, slow loops and pushes.
