Seemiller Grip

Also known as American Grip.

A type of grip normally only used in the US, which is named after its most famous user and five-times US National Champion, Dan Seemiller.

Typically used with a combination racket, the Seemiller grip requires the player to hold the racket in a similar way to the shakehand grip, but with a 90 degree turn so that the thumb and index finger are used to grip the sides of the racket. Both backhand and forehand are played with the same side of the racket, although the racket can be rotated so that the ball can be struck with either side of the hitting surface.
