Power Zone

A name that is used to describe those areas from which a player can perform a forehand or backhand stroke without having to adjust their footwork, allowing them to hit the ball with maximum power and speed.

For a right handed player, the power zones are normally found:

  • Forehand strokes: in an area about 30-45 cm wide, beginning around 20 cm to the right of their playing elbow.
  • Backhand strokes: in front of the left half body.

The reverse is true for left handed players.
