Inverted Rubber

Also known as Pips-In Rubber, Smooth Rubber, Reverse Rubber or Normal Rubber.

A racket covering that consists of a sheet of pips rubber on top of a layer of sponge, with the pimples facing in, leaving the smooth side of the topsheet to strike the ball.

The inverted rubber covering is the most common type used in rackets, and its smooth yet gripping surface can give the widest range of spin of all types of rubbers.
