Dead Ball

Also known as No Spin Ball or Float Ball.

A ball that is returned with little or no spin. A dead ball is very difficult to execute, read, and return, and is often used to deceive the opponent by pretending that there is spin on the ball, when in fact there is none. If successful, this will often win the point by causing the opponent to hit the ball off the end of the table or into the net.
