Blade

The name that is given to the table tennis racket without its rubber surface. A blade is mainly wooden (some may feature carbon, titanium, aluminium or fibreglass), with a handle for the player to grip the racket.

When rubber is placed on one or both sides of the blade, the combination becomes a table tennis racket.
